John has been DJing since the early 2000s.  He got his start in his hometown of Fairfax, VA spinning house parties in High School.  In 2002 he moved to NYC and began to learn more about the craft of DJing.  He worked at legendary Record Store/Record Label Fat Beats and performed weekly on his radio show “Wheels of Steel” on WNYU.  John Eamon DJed at NY venues such as The Knitting Factory, CBGBs, The Bowery Poetry Club, & Crash Mansion.

From 2007-2009 John volunteered to serve in The Peace Corps Guatemala.  His main focus was building water systems, wood-burning stoves, and planting trees in the rural highlands.  He learned to speak Spanish fluently and integrated more international music into his DJ sets.  John continued to DJ at nightclubs in Antigua, Xela, & Guatemala City.

In 2009 he moved to Washington DC and began his career as a full time DJ.  John Eamon became the booking agent and DJ manager at The Brixton Nightclub and held down residencies at some of the best venues in the city including 18th St Lounge, Marvin, The Black Cat & The W Hotel.  John also expanded into DJing weddings, corporate events, private parties, music festivals, and fundraisers.

John Eamon is an open format DJ who is able to read the crowd and provide the right atmosphere for any event.  John specializes in Hip-Hop, R&B, Funk/Soul, Disco, 80s & 90s flashbacks, Motown, Pop, Rock, House, Reggae/Dancehall, Afro-Beats, Música Latina (Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Bachata) & Brazilian Music.  He is also a music producer and saxophonist.  His band Champion Sound has performed at Broccoli City Music Festival, The 930 Club & The Kennedy Center.

John Eamon has recently relocated to Los Angeles and is ready to bring his DJ expertise to dancefloors along the West Coast.

With a calm & professional demeanor he can also provide MC skills to engage the room and provide direction & focus to each event.

Q: Where did you grow up? 

A: Fairfax, Virginia (a suburb of Washington DC)

Q: How did you get into DJing?

A: I started DJing (all vinyl) in High School at House Parties

Q: What do you love most about playing weddings? 

A: I love using my DJ skills for the good of society. 

Q: It feels so satisfying to contribute to someone’s special day. 

A: Music helps set the tone of the wedding celebration and contributes to everyone’s emotions in the room.  It’s nice to see the joy on people’s faces and feel the love in the atmosphere.

Q: Top 3 songs that always start a dance party? 

A: “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston.  “This is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan.

Q: What is your favorite concert that you’ve attended? 

A: Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, or The Roots (I couldn’t decide!)
