DJ Misty (DJ Furacious)

The driving force behind Hey Mister DJ, Misty (AKA DJ Furacious) keeps us on our toes. With a sense of hearing and smell 10,000 times more accurate than ours, she approves every playlist and sniffs out any “stinkers” that might hurt a dance floor.

Generally her room awareness is fantastic, but can be easily distracted by squirrels. Also, if she sees a treat she many put the music on “paws” for a moment. 😜

Veronica's Q&A's

Saddle Brook NJ –  15 minutes outside of NYC

Being a working musician and a lover of all music, DJing seemed like a natural skill to pick up. The lockdown afforded me the time to finally start learning. So I bought a controller and got to work!

Celebrating love is what weddings are all about. I love LOVE and the joyous energy surrounding the couple and I get to be a part of that by filling the space with awesome music. It’s always a great honor.

Erasure at the Beacon Theatre in NYC 1992. Amazing what a duo can pull off in the synth-pop genre. It was ‘epic’! They had everyone out of their seats and dancing. Andy Bell and Vince Clarke are nothing short of genius. And the artistic direction was brilliant to boot.

“November Rain” … a song about the separation Axl Rose and Stephanie Seymour (one month after their wedding) was requested for a couple’s first dance. It’s important to read the lyrics!

On stage at the Santa Clarita Central Park Music Festival in 2019 in front of 4000 people. We had the place jumping and dancing like their lives depended on it.

Oh my! This is a hard one. I’d have to be in the room, read the crowd to pick the right one to start with. It really all depends on age range and culture.

  • Locked Out of Heaven – Bruno Mars
  • You Should Be Dancing – BeeGees
  • Vogue – Madonna
  • … and one more for good measure:
  • Suavemente – Elvis Crespo

Voice Acting! It’s a side hustle and I love it. It’s so much fun being on the mic and creating characters.

The weather! I mean, I’m originally from an area that was super muggy in the summer and super cold and full of snow in the winter. I miss that sometimes, but you really can’t beat the weather in LA. It makes life a bit easier to not have to shovel your car out of the snow and letting it warm up for 20 minutes before driving.

If I lay here

If I just lay here

Would you lie with me

and just forget the world – Snow Patrol

He also produces a teen dance club called CDE in the Ventura area.

His music library is very diverse, including R&B, club, hip hop, old school, funk, trap, lounge/chill, house, EDM/festival, country, 70’s  80’s & 90’s, classic rock, big band, banda, Cuban, Dancehall, Kidz Bop, Motown, Reggaeton, Salsa, Standards, Bollywood/Punjabi, Hindi pop, etc.

He can also host/MC the event and not afraid to get out on the dance floor with the guests if/when appropriate or desired. Punctual, professional and passionate about making your wedding or event amazing!

Q & A with Logan

I grew up in Southern California and have lived here my whole life.

I caught the DJing bug when I was 14 and my folks hired a DJ for my sister’s 16th birthday party. He showed me how to mix a bit, and I thought it was so cool. I bought some real ghetto gear and advertised in the neighborhood and on Facebook. I got my first paying gig a few months later. At first it was a lot of 13 yr old birthday parties and evolved from there.

What I like most about DJing weddings is the variety of people and music tastes. You have people of all ages and often different cultures. It’s fun to switch the music up to make sure that everyone is drawn to the dance floor.

I’m an EDM fanboi at heart. I produce EDM music too (under the name TekitWolf). So my

favorite concerts are EDM music festivals. I’ve been to many, such as Countdown, Beyond, Escape, Project Z, etc.

I’ve had so many that it’s hard to pick just one, but I guess I would have to say that it was when I DJd a Pokemon-themed wedding. The entire wedding party was dressed in Pokemon costumes, and all the ceremony songs were Pokemon-themed. This was also one of the funnest weddings I’ve DJd. The wedding was set to end at 11p, and at about 10p they asked if I wanted to bring my gear back to the big Airbnb that the newlyweds’ out-of-town friends had rented. I said yes and ended up rolling into my bed around 6am. Good times!

DJs often have many opportunities to be Super Heros as weddings, especially if there’s no professional wedding coordinator involved. In those cases, I become the de-facto wedding coordinator. Once you’ve DJd a ton of weddings, you get to know instinctively what’s on track, how things are going, what needs to change, etc. In terms of specific Hero Moments, a couple of times I’ve had to move my gear and setup in an entirely new location after I had already completed my sound check.

These may sound cliche, but they’re crowd-pleasers and guaranteed to get people on the dance floor.

1) Usher – Yeah!

2) Earth, Wind & Fire – September

3) Bruno Mars – 24K Magic

I produce EDM music under my artist name, TekitWolf.

If I wasn’t a DJ, I would want to be a music producer.

I love that LA is such a melting pot with a great diversity of people, and for the most part, people genuinely live their authentic lives and don’t care what others think. You can be whomever you want to be!

There’s so much good music being released all the time, I love finding new tracks and artists. One of my favorite song lyrics right now would have to be Kygo – Gone Are The Days, which is about losing a loved one you thought you’d have forever.

About Kane

Blessed with being born into the family business Rolling Disco, one of LA’s first mobile disc jockey services, DJ Kane grew up around vinyl, turntables, and world class DJs who revolutionized the industry. Even before he was old enough to legally drive, Kane was setting up equipment at the Playboy Mansion one weekend and volunteering his DJ services at a children’s charity event the next. Since getting his license the day he turned 16, Kane has played hundreds of parties and events from coast to coast.

From Funk, Motown, Retro, Rock, Lounge, Oldies, Top 40, Hip Hop to Jazz and beyond….Kane has one of the most diverse music libraries in LA and knows how to use it!

Kane prides himself not so much on his technical prowess as he does his magnetic personality, forever igniting the room with palpable joy and spreading that vivaciousness everywhere from movie premieres, to private events, and weddings throughout his native home of Los Angeles.

For Kane, home is where the heart is and he knows that friends and family are the very chambers of that heart. Believing that home is an ever-expanding assembly – it grows exponentially with all the lives that have inspired him and those that he continues to inspire. This is reflected in an infectious confidence that Kane tempers with his never ending quest for cultural and musical enlightenment.

About Tyler

Tyler is a Minnesota native who has been DJing as long as he can remember, but professionally since 2011. Before relocating to California, along with doing 30-40 weddings a year, Tyler was also director of communications at a Minneapolis based record label, as well as the host of multiple FM radio shows.

He also DJs many other event styles, including private parties, festivals and clubs. His love for music comes from his grandparents whom he grew up with. His grandma loved listening to music, singing and dancing along, and encouraged the family to do the same. As a result he has a broad knowledge and love of all music genres.

As an MC, Tyler’s Midwest roots show in his warm & friendly presentation. As a DJ, Tyler’s specialty is reading his audience and playing the best songs to bring the most life to the dance floor. He prides himself on being able to adapt to any event style, and he enjoys them all!

A: I grew up all over the Minneapolis metropolitan area.

A: My favorite thing about living in LA is definitely the variety. Whether its food, culture, music, architecture, even climate, there is no shortage of things to experience and discover here. I love being able to go from the mountains, to the beach, to the city all in one day.

A: Growing up I spent a lot of time with my mom’s parents, who love music and have a huge appreciation for many styles of music, and that appreciation was definitely passed down to me. As a result I’ve always listened to just about everything, so I think my path to becoming a DJ was only natural. I always used to make mixes and burn cds for get togethers with friends and family, which eventually led to my grandfather getting me a turn table for Christmas when I was about 16. A couple years later, I answered an add for a company hiring wedding DJs, got the job on the spot, and fell in love with the craft.

A: I love being able to contribute to a day that most people consider one of the most important days of their lives. Being apart of something so meaningful and intimate is really quite special, and I appreciate every minute of it. It’s little moments like a groom’s face as his bride walks down the aisle, or the father of the bride tearing up during a heartfelt speech that I really appreciate the most.

A: I Wanna Dance With Somebody – Whitney Houston, Hot In Herre – Nelly, 24K Magic – Bruno Mars

A: Searching for and discovering new music, traveling to areas I have never been to, hiking, camping, museums, and going to see live music are some of my favorite hobbies outside of work.

Q & A with DJ Jimmy

Auburn Ca. A small northern California town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

In 2006 I toured Southern Italy as a guitarist and Saxophone player. I was booked to accompany International DJs at large outdoor Summer parties. As a lifelong musician, I was intrigued by the energy I witnessed with the crowd and the DJ, and when I got back to America I dove in and started to DJ myself.

Weddings are such momentous occasions. Everyone always comes to have the time of their lives. The night lives in the memories and hearts of many people who are deeply interconnected. It’s such a pleasure to be a part of that. Nowhere else will you find a more diverse crowd of people who are ready to party!

“Dancing in the moonlight”….as a Father Daughter! Sounds harmless right?…until the first line comes in…”We get it on almost every night”:/ I had to make a little announcement over that part so I wouldn’t turn red.

Weddings can be stressful. Especially when the newlyweds are in a bit of a tiff. Well at an event a while back, when it came time to cut the cake no one could find the Bride and Groom. The coordinator had everyone circled around the cake…but they were in the hallway arguing. I managed to stall long enough with a few off the cuff jokes and correlating songs, meanwhile I found the Bride and Groom…gave them a little pep talk and lead them back into the party to finish a really fun night!

1-The newest most fun current Top 40 jam. (Changes by the week) Happy, Uptown Funk, Can’t stop the feeling etc.

2- 70s or 80s favorite like Kiss- Prince, September -EWF, Don’t stop till you get enough- MJ

3- 90s throwback- This is how we do it- M. Jordon, California Love- Tupac, Backstreet Boys etc.

Also, by doing your homework you can find out what songs will be guaranteed winners AHEAD OF TIME. This changes for every event, but if you know Suavemente is the grooms favorite song or if the USC fight song is the familiy’s anthem…those songs should be placed right towards the beginning or end of a dance set! Knowing when and even where your couple grew up can give you an edge on what will make people react. Music is the soundtrack to life! Playing a song everyone grew up with will connect you to the crowd in a very deep way!

Music Production, Singing, Beach trips with my Wife and Daughter.

Never a dull moment. Always something new to see.

“Music is a world within itself with a language we all understand”

Q&A With DJ Miles

I grew up in Buffalo NY. Lots of snow. Lots of staying inside to get good at music!

My father was a DJ from the 80’s on. He had his own rock dance bar that he would DJ every night and moved into mobile DJing after that closed in the 90s. So I guess that’s where I got the idea of it as a job. Later on in my adulthood I discovered the art of mixing and treating the turntables as an instrument. I always hated being in bands growing up, so it was nice to have an outlet like DJing where I felt like I was in everyone’s band.

I love the challenge weddings provide. A DJ is walking into the widest demographic from very young to very old. Not only are you to set the tone and vibe of such an important day, but you are also the host of the event. Putting all of these pieces together in a fluid motion is a challenge that I find exciting!

I honestly don’t have a specific one. I’m always out and catching different DJs and boutique festivals friends may be throwing. That’s like asking a favorite song to a DJ. Theres just too many! Now, if the question was which concert would I have loved to attend? I would have to say Nina Simone or Bill Withers.

Haha! I’d rather not say, it’s not PG-13

I have a few goto songs

Michael Jackson – Wanna Be Startin’ Something (Louis La Roche Remix)

Kool & The Gang – Get Down On It (Rocco Raimundo Edit)

Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa – One Kiss

I’m a hobbyist chef. I love sake (used to be a sake sommelier). I produce music at home. I go see stand-up comedy a lot. I also like to get out to skateboard & snowboard in the winter.

Probably something else creative. Graphic designer? Maybe a professional chef?

I love that I can see world class entertainment any night of the week! For me, why else be here?

Another impossible question to answer. I love to many!
