Los Angeles Wedding Tips For Engaged Couples

If you’re thinking about having a wedding in LA, you’re making the right decision! From beautiful beaches to a buzzing nightlife (and of course the best wedding entertainment), there are plenty of reasons to get married in The City of Angels. To help with planning, we have some wedding tips for engaged couples to help make your planning easier.  Here are a few Los Angeles wedding resources to get started:

Los Angeles Marriage License Information

You will need a California wedding license to get married anywhere within the state. If your wedding will be in Los Angeles County, you can easily apply for it through the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder (LA County RR/CC). Due to COVID-19, all appointments for obtaining your wedding license are virtual. You can visit the LA County RR/CC website directly for more information.    An even better idea is to hire a professional officiant who can help you with this process.   So if you want a one-stop-shop I’d suggest checking out Great Officiants!

Venue Ideas in Los Angeles

From luxurious mansions to glistening coastlines, there are tons of amazing wedding venues in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. (Ventura, Orange County, Santa Barbara)  If you’re looking for spacious areas with excellent views, consider some of the garden and country club locations. Weather

Los Angeles has warm weather for the majority of the year, but the season can still affect venue availability.
If you book an all-outdoor venue between October & February, be prepared to have extra budget in case you need to rent a tent last minute due to rain.
Check out the chart below to get an idea of weather for your ideal venue:

Annual Events in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Wedding Tips on Pricing

One of the most popular Google searches of wedding tips is always about pricing. While wedding costs can vary depending on the venue and vendor, keep in mind that Los Angeles is a popular destination and major metropolitan area. Below is a helpful chart to give you an idea of what to expect:

Wedding Pricing Guide for Vendors

Keep in mind that this is just an average and can vary based on date, time of year and level of experience with your vendors.  NOTE: The Zola guide is missing rates on wedding coordinators, but I’ll be speaking about them in the next section.

Los Angeles Wedding Planning Tips

We HIGHLY recommend hiring a professional wedding planner to help in the early stages of your wedding planning.   An experienced coordinator can help leverage their relationship with preferred vendors to help you save time, get you the best value for your investment and also avoid some common mistakes that couples make when trying to plan everything on their own.  In other words, a great planner will end up paying for themselves and help make your venue & vendor selection a breeze!
